Age 4 - Grade 2
If your child is too young to attend a week of camp like their older siblings, or if you want to get insider perspective on summer camp, then Super Kid's Retreat is for you! This overnight retreat is designed to introduce you both to the summer camp experience at Camp Dixie. Together with your child, you'll sleep in the cabin, eat meals in the dining hall, and meet some of our staff and counselors. Campers will enjoy a variety of camp activities: games, swimming, music, Bible stories, and crafts. It's a great weekend for parents to ask questions and for kid's to experience something new - with the security of having mom or dad close by. We hope this will be the first of many wonderful summer memories for you and your child! One parent may attend the retreat with their child free of charge.
Grades 2 - 4
This may be the first time you've ever journeyed away from home, and it's going to be great! Your counselors and CIT's will be with you every step of the way. The week will be filled with all sorts of great new experiences: new cabin friends, songs you've never sung before, Bible stories that come alive! You'll spend fun-filled afternoons with your bunkmates enjoying the pool, playing some mini-golf or 4-square. If you're feeling brave, you can even try something you've never done before like the BLOB or the giant waterslide! During this week we run an overnight camp and a day camp. There is a limited number of spaces available for campers from the local area who want to commute each day. Campers arrive before breakfast and leave after evening chapel.
Grades 5 - 6
Fifth and sixth graders ? you are going to love hanging out with the friends in your small cabin group ? going to chapel, laughing, talking with your counselor and CIT. You?ll have the chance to choose one area of interest out of about 12-15 options that you want to explore this week. Whether improving your skills in your favorite sport, learning to play the guitar, writing articles for the camp newspaper, making some cool jewelry or learning a new dance move ? you?ll leave with some new stories to tell! If you want high energy, you?ve got it here! You can burn it up on the BLOB, the go-carts and the giant waterslide.
Grades 7 - 8
Teen Camp #1 is our week for middle school students in grades 7-8. If it's your first year moving out of Kids Camps, you're in for some fun changes! You'll have a chance to sharpen your skills with electives in more than a dozen areas of interest including a variety of sports, guitar, camp newspaper, dance, signing, and many more. Talk about faith and life issues - the stuff that hits you every day - with counselors and staff who understand what you're going through. Our own house band, crazy daily videos, time to hang out with friends, late night events and life-changing Biblical application - need I say more?
Grades 9 - 12
As a high school student, if you thought you were too old for summer camp, then you obviously have never attended Teen Camp #2! It?s zany, life-changing and unforgettable. It's a place where you can be real - where you can talk about the struggles you face in your life and your faith. You'll laugh deeper, play harder, and sing louder than you have in a long time. Worship with our house band, hang time with friends, crazy team competitions, awesome late-night events - all combined in a setting where you'll sense God's love and acceptance for just being you.
